The Massasoit CC Warrior Baseball team, held their annual team dinner and fundraiser at the Enterprise Club located in Brockton, MA, a short distance from the campus. Over 100 people enjoyed a an Italian dinner complimented by Greek salad and dessert. A reverse raffle was held with the winner walking away with a $500 first prize. What makes this event special is that the players and their parents are joined by the administration, faculty and staff members. Dr. Charles Wall has attended every dinner since he was named President of the College and his presence is a vivid reminder to the team of the depth of his support for our program as well as the entire Athletic Department.

This years’ guest speaker was Vice President of Finance, William Mitchell. What made his presentation unique, is that Bill was signed to a professional contract with the St. Louis Cardinals after playing his first year of fall baseball with the Warriors. He talked of his professional career, but the mere fact he returned to the College as Vice President almost 30 years later is testimony to the importance of achieving his academic goals. This point was not lost on the 20 Warrior players who were present.

The “100 Hungry Baseball Fans” dinner is always a sure sign that our spring trip to Vero Beach, Florida, is right around the corner. We leave T.F. Green Airport at 10:15 am on Thursday, March 14th.
