The Warriors have been hampered by the weather, in terms of practices being canceled. At today’s practice all the pitchers threw 50 pitches off the mound. Everyone looked sharp and so far the staff has not suffered the inevitable “dead arm.” Coach McDermott worked with the hitters and all in all it was a very productive practice.

Tomorrow we will work on bunt plays, first and thirds and wheel plays. It will be more of an instructional practice, but emphasizing the fundamentals can really help when we finally get outside. I continually stress to the team that the ability and foresight to back up a play or be in position at the right time can be the difference between winning and losing. Experience tells me that winning is always better.
