A Split with SNHU JV

The let down was inevitable, after yesterday’s wins over Northern Essex. In the first game against Southern New Hampshire University JV,  Dave Murphy hit a home run in the first inning to stake the Warriors to an early lead. Still, the Warriors had to battle back from a 6-3 deficit with a four run sixth inning. Joe Commesso drove in a run, Travis Ritchie picked up an rbi and Dave Murphy and Luke Nagle each plated a run. With a 7-6 lead, all we needed were three outs and we just couldn’t make it happen. Walks, an error and a series of well hit sacrifice flys resulted in the end of a six game win streak by a score of 9-7.

In game two, Corey Walker was totally in command as the freshman left-hander, scattered six hits, struck out four and only allowed one earned run in a 8-2 Warrior victory. A six run second inning was the difference as Pat Murray, Matt Levasseur and Luke Nagle hit back to back to back doubles and Tom Protentis crushed a two run home run to left center field.

In the second game, Travis Ritchie, Murray, Levasseur and Nagle all had multiple hit games (Nagle was six for seven in the double header) to lead the Warrior offense. The Warriors did a nice job turning it around to win three games out of a possible four, for the weekend.

Tom Protentis will take the mound as the Warriors will play at home on Tuesday against Dean College, starting at 3:30 pm.

Corey picked up the win, with a complete game victory over SNHU JVs. Corey struck out four and only allowed one earned run, as he notched his first collegiate victory!
