Jake Stearns was dominant….

The Warriors took the field against Riverland CC (MN) last night and it resulted in a classic pitcher’s duel. Jake Stearns brought his “A” game, as the struck out 11 hitters, scattered five hits and did not walk a hitter. His counterpart for Riverland utilized a heavy fastball and excellent off-speed pitches to hold the Warriors to two hits and once again, the inability to plate a run. In the bottom of the fourth inning an infield error and failure to execute a first and third cut option resulted in the only run of the contest,a  run that was unearned. Plymouth’s Dave Murphy and Mike Scibilio had the two Warrior hits. Sciblio also had a great day in the field as he made a diving catch in left and backed up an overthrow to nail a potential run at the plate. The Warriors are still looking for their first win of the trip as the face Kirkwood CC (IA) tav 4:00 pm.
