Jake Stearns pitched an outstanding game for the Warriors,as he hurled a  two hit, complete game victory of the Marshalltown Tigers (IA). Marshalltown scored their only run in the second inning without recording a hit. The the lead-off hitter was hit by a pitch, stole a base and scored on a pitch that handcuffed the catcher. The score stood at 1-0 until the bottom of the fifth inning, when Evan McSherry stroked a single to left field, Jon Hurley followed with a walk and Alex Carey reached on an error. Kevin Huscher then launched a double to plate two runs wth the Carey scoring on an overthrow.  The three run eruption was all the Jake needed as as he was pretty much flawless over the last five innings of the game. He capped off the performance with a 1,2,3 ninth. He struck out the first hitter and induced two fly ball outs to pick up his first victory of the season.

The Warriors play a twin bill tomorrow, facing the Ontario Blue Jays at 10:00 am and Westchester CC (NY) at 4:00 pm.
