MCC Warriors 5 – Holyoke CC 2

The Warriors took the Mass Pike all the way to exit 4, to visit the Holyoke CC Cougars. We arrived a little too late for batting practice, so it was stretch, throw and play ball. The Warriors scored  two runs in the second inning on a two out, two rbi single by Trevor Packard. The Warriors plated two more runs in the fourth on a Joe Walsh single and a Chirs Roumbakis fielder’s choice. Matt Levasseur finished the scoring with an rbi single (one of his two hits on the day) to record the final Warrior run.

David Tarr was on the mound for the Warriors and he was dominant. In control for nine innings, David scattered six hits, struck out six batters and only issued two walks. That stat alone was the key to David’s success. From the fifth through the eighth inning he was perfect…12 batters up and all 12 retired. It was a very solid performance by the sophomore, who showed tremendous poise in the last inning as a one out double resulted in the final Cougar run.

The Warriors are now 6-0 in Divisional play, with four big games coming up as they host Quinsigamond CC for two on Saturday and Holyoke makes the long ride for a double dip on Patriot’s Day.  Both double-headers start at 12:00 pm.

David Tarr scattered six hits and K'd six in a complete game 5-2 victory over the Holyoke CC Cougars.
