Warriors drop a heartbreaker 5-3

Mike Nader pitched six sold innings, allowing only one earned run in a 5-3 loss to CCRI. The game was called in the top of the ninth inning when the rain became torrential. Tyler Morini had a pair of hits for the Warriors and Jon Hurley drove in a run in the fifth inning when the Warriors took a 2-1 lead. The first run scored on a balk. The Warriors took a 3-2 lead into the top of the eighth inning after a Dylan Ashburn sacrifice fly plated Alex Carey for the go ahead run. Then as they say “the wheels came off the wagon.” The Knights strung together a five hit inning to erase the deficit and end up on the top end of a 5-3 score.

The Warriors travel to Northern Essex CC tomorrow for a 3:30 pm Divisional game.
