Zack Reid

Warriors drop their first two in Vero Beach, FL

Zack Reid pitched an absolute gem in a 1-0 loss, to Hagerstown CC,  in the Warriors season opener. Reid gave up only two hits, the lone run was unearned and resulted from a pair of Warrior errors. Zack spotted his breaking pitch and commanded his fastball in an 82 pitch effort. Kevin Huscher and Jim Lawless had the two Warrior hits.

Jake Stearns started game two against the UCAP Pointers, he turned in a 8K ,1 BB, five inning outing. The Warriors  were chasing three in the bottom of the fifth inning, when Jack DeCoste and Kevin Huscher reached on walks. They both scored when Bryan Dwyer scorched a line drive to left field that was misplayed, allowing all three runners to score. The lead was short-lived as UCAP took advantage of some shoddy defense to retake the lead in what turned out to be a game final score of 7-4. Dwyer had a solid game with two hits, a rbi and a run scored.

The Warriors take on the Ontario Blue Jays tomorrow in a 4:00 pm contest.
