Warriors drop two…

The Warriors opened up the 2014 season with a 5-4 loss against the Ontario Blue Jays in Historic DodgerTown in Vero Beach, Florida. Sam Devine pitched two innings of shut out relief to keep the Warriors in the game. However, the opportunity to tie the game ended with a Massasoit runner at first base. Matt Levasseur had a pair of hits and an rbi and Trevor Packard scored twice to lead the team offensively. The Warriors left seven runners on base, so the opportunity to win this game was there, we simply didn’t take advantage of the offensive opportunities that were provided.

In game two of the day, Dave Tarr came out strong against Miami-Hamilton Junior College (OH). He struck out six in five innings, but walks and some shaky defense left him on the losing end of 5-3 score. Tarr only allowed three earned runs and deserved a better fate.  Joe Walsh had three hits and an rbi , but that was the extent of the Warrior offense.

Massasoit will play the Ontario Blue Jays tomorrow at 1:00 pm. Luke Nagle will take the mound for the Warriors.
