Warriors lose to Ontario Academy

Walks hurt the Warriors as Ontario Academy scored nine times in the third inning courtesy of five bases on balls and a defensive miscue. Scott O’Brien entered the game with one out in the third inning and held the Ontario hitters to only one run over the remaining 4 and 2/3 innings. He scattered fours hits and did not walk a batter. O’Brien also chipped in with a fourth inning double.

David Murphy played a strong game at shortstop as he had five assists and offensively had a double and a walk. Travis Ritchie had a booming triple to right center and a single to go with a pair of runs batted in. The Warriors had a chance to do some damage in the fourth inning, when they loaded the bases with no outs. But a called third strike and a tailor made double play ball turned a promising inning into zero runs for the Warriors.

The Warriors are now 0-3 on their spring trip and face Riverland CC (MN) tomorrow with Attleboro’s Corey Walker taking the hill.

Scott O'Brien pitched outstanding in relief, going 4 2/3 innings and allowing only one run.
