Warriors Split with Northern Essex CC

The Warriors traveled to Haverhill, MA to play the Northern Essex Knights in a Divisional double header on Sunday. The first game was a marathon three hour, ten inning victory for the Warriors. Dave Tarr pitched the first five innings only allowing two earned runs and striking out seven hitters. As his pitch count climbed at the end of the fifth, Ethan Kelley came in to hold the fort. Over the next five innings he was superb, allowing only two hits and fanning four Knight batters. The Warriors offense clicked in only two of the ten innings. A four run fourth inning  was highlighted by a Luke Nagle two run double and a Travis Ritchie single (one of his three hits in this game.) Six innings later the Warriors took advantage of a walk, a hit batter and a fielding error to plated five runs, two on a solid single by Tyler Andrade. It was a nice win for the Warriors, who are still in contention for the number one seed in the Region XXI Tournament.

The second game was all Northern Essex.They scored in every inning in securing a identical 9-4 win. The only offensive bright spot, was a two hit, four rbi day for Chris Samaras.

The Warriors travel to Holyoke CC on Tuesday for a 4:00 pm game.
