Warriors sweep Bridgton Academy 4-3 and 14-4

The Warriors bounced back from two disappointing losses on Saturday to take a pair of games from Bridgton Academy. The first tilt was a nail biter with the Warriors walking off with the win in the bottom of the seventh inning. The home team took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning as Tyler Morini and Justin Martinho each drove in a run. In the top of the seventh our pitching fell apart as four walks and a hit batter resulted in a 3-2 Bridgeton lead.

In the bottom of the seventh, Evan McSherry led off with a line drive single , then Kevin Huscher hit a one out double to put runners on second and third. Tyler Morini came to the plate and once again came up big with a sharp single into the gap to plate both runs and secure the victory. Liam Richmond picked up the win in relief.

Bryan Dwyer took the ball in game two and in his first outing of the season. He produced a solid effort and gave way to Zack Reid in the fifth inning. Bridgton took a 4-3 lead in the top of the fourth inning, but the Warrior bats exploded as they plated 11 unanswered runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Alex Carey blasted his second home run of the season and drove in four runs as he was a triple shy of the hitting for the cycle. Dylan Ashburn drove in three runs in a 4-5 effort at the plate.Evan McSherry topped off a solid day with three hits and a pair of runs batted in. When the dust cleared, the Warriors had a 14-4 victory.

The Warriors travel to Bowditch Field in Framingham for a 3:00 pm tilt against the Mass Bay CC Buccaneers for a Divisional game on Thursday.
