Warriors walk off with a win…

The Warriors faced the Bunker Hill Bull Dogs at Louis R. Colombo Field on the Brockton campus in a 3:30 game. At about 3:40 we were chasing five runs and by 4:00 we were chasing eight runs.  Through five innings the Warriors would only manage two hits. A Joe Walsh single in the second inning and a Chris Roumbakis rbi double to plate our first run in the bottom of the fifth, as the home team scored three times. Sam Devine did a nice job going six innings and keeping the score within reach.

The Warriors inched closer scoring a single run in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings. In the bottom of the ninth Matt Levasseur reached on a walk and Joe Walsh reached on an infield error. Russ Boudreau doubled to bring us within two runs. Then Nick Oliveira drove in Joe and Russ to tie the game. Travis Ritchie singled and Pat “Muzz” Murray had his second walk-off hit of the season to score Nick on a close play at the plate.

We didn’t play well offensively and the top of the line-up stuggled, but a win is a win. The Warriors are now 14-1 in Divisional play and 21-10 at the end of regular season play. The Region XXI Tournament starts this weekend and as they say, it’s a whole new season.

Nick had a three hits and three rbi in a win over Bunker Hill CC.
