Justin Martinho

Warriors split with Southern Main CC Seawolves

The Warriors played two well pitched, defensive battles with the Southern Main CC Seawolves in South Portland, Maine. Jake Stearns improved to 5-1 hurling a four hit shutout that featured ten strikeouts and no walks and resulted in a 2-0 victory . Bryan Dwyer continued his torrid weekend with three hits and scored a run. Justin Martinho had a two rbi single to plate Dwyer and Alex Carey.

Game #2 was a heartbreaker for Zack Reid who ended up on the wrong end of a 3-1 score. Zack only allowed four hits and struck out nine Seawolves, but a pair of sixth inning walks provided the margin of victory for the home team. Kevin Huscher and Alex Carey each had a pair of hits for the Warriors. The Warriors stranded eight baserunners and had ample opportunities to break the game open. The upside was two superb pitching performances and errorless defense for the Warriors, who return to action on Wednesday as they host the CCRI Knights at the Louis R. Colombo Field.
