Ouch! That hurt….

Dean College earned a walk-off win over the Warriors at Longley Field in Franklin, MA. The Warriors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning as Travis Ritchie tripled and score on a Pat Murray single, Luke Nagle plated Murray with the first of his two rbis on the day. Travis led off the third with a double and scored on a infield hit by Dave Murphy.  He led off the fifth with a single and was plated once again by Luke Nagle. The Warriors combined for 16 hits but could only score five times as the the stranded 11 runners over the course of nine innings.

Multiple errors in the eighth inning made the score 5-4 and a comfortable lead turned into a very tight game. After a ground ball out to start he bottom of the ninth, four straight hits resulted in a 6-5 win for the Dean Bulldogs. Luke Nagle and Scott O’Brien both had three hits and combined for three runs batted in. The pitching, starting with Dave Tarr, who gave way to Collin Ross was effective, but the errors led to costly runs and the seventh defeat of the season for the Warriors.

The Warriors are scheduled to play Mass Bay CC on Saturday at Louis R. Colombo Field starting at 12:00 pm. Shane Holmes and Luke Nagle will take the mound for the Warriors in the twin bill.
