Franklin Pierce JV 7,9 – Massasoit CC 6,3

It was not a great day for the Warriors as the wind blew out and so did the baseball. The first game proved interesting as we were chasing seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. We strung together a few hits and a Chris Adams smashed a bases loaded double to put us within a run with one out. We ended up coming up short as two ground ball outs left the tying run on the third and the winning run on first. Luke Nagle pitched six solid innings and only gave up four hits and three earned runs. Our downfall was that we waited until the bottom of the seventh to start hitting, as we were held to three hits in the previous six frames.

In the second game, we were held to five hits. Two of them were solo home runs for Chris Adams who had a four hit day with five runs batted in. Tyler Andrade had a pair of hits and Travis Ritchie had a single to account for the meager Warrior offense in game two of the double header. The weather was windy and raw and it certainly had an adverse effect on the Warrior bats. Hopefully as the weather warms up, so will our bats!

The Warriors play again at home on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 in a 3:30 start against Mass Bay CC.
